I booked a flight to suriname last week. We had to book early because the flight are always sold out very soon. We’ll be leaving June 24th and come back July 25th. I’ve never been to suriname before, but I’ve been to South America 4 times in the last 3 years. Three times to Margarita Island and one time to the Dominican republic.
Going to Suriname gives me a chance to see boas in the wild, if I can find any. So it will be combining my hobby with my holidays. Speaking of boas, it’s breeding season again. I’ve got one boa gravid now, which will give birth before I go to Suriname, and another boa pairing is planned for this season, as well as 5 ball python pairings.
I’m not sure yet if I’m gonna put the male ball python in with the females, since I don’t want eggs or babies while I’m gone to Suriname. On the other hand, I can cancel the flight and get my money back if I need to…
Guess I’ll have to do some planning. Last year I had several clutches of ball python eggs which were all laid at the end of June. The boa gave birth to her litter on July 18th. Maybe if I put the couples together later in the season, I’ll get the babies later as well, sure hope so.
Anyways, anyone of you guys ever been to Suriname?
