New weapon in war against RSI

In the war against RSI, the Erasmus medical center from Rotterdam (Holland) created a new weapon; the horse. This is similiar to a regular mouse, but developed in such a way that the handmuscles enjoy maximum relaxation.
Paul Helder, from the company Hippus that will be producing the horse, describes the horse as follows: “When you don’t use it, the hand rests on the horse. Because of the shape and size the little finger and thumb fall around the horse like the legs of a rider, the big and broad side area completely supports the palm of the hand, like a saddle.”
The product has been tested by test subjects. The test results showed that pain complaints regarding the neck, shoulder, arm and hand decreased or disappeared completely. Helder: “We’ve measured the muscle tension while using the horse, and it appeared to be absent most of the times.”
In Holland, with a population of about 16 Million people, 2 million people risk getting an RSI. This is costing the society around 2 Billion euros a year. Every year, 340.000 to 675.000 employees visit the doctor with workrelated complaints regarding the arm, neck or shoulder.
